San Diego Surf Forecast - for Thursday - 2/18/2010

The WNW-NW swell will continue to back down on Thursday while weak SW energy continues to blip in through the background. Most North County spots can expect surf in the waist-chest high range through the morning and afternoon low tides…maybe a rare shoulder high set now and then at the best combo spots.
South County breaks will be a little bit better…particularly the NW facing breaks. Look for most spots to average around waist-shoulder high. Standout breaks will see some inconsistent chest-head high sets mixing in on the lower tides.
Winds look good…mostly light and variable to light offshore for the morning. NW winds around 10-14 knots move in through the afternoon.
