San Diego Surf Forecast - for Tuesday - 2/23/2010

Mix of fading WNW-NW swell and some background SW swell will be on tap for Tuesday. North County breaks will average in the waist-chest high range…maybe a little bigger at the better combo breaks that can pull in some decent energy from both directions.

Standout NW facing breaks and excellent combo spots in South County will be in the waist-shoulder high range…with a few bigger near head high sets showing through the lower tides. Waves will be inconsistent and tide sensitive so you might have more fun with a “smaller wave” board just so you can power through the sections on the in-betweeners.

Clean conditions on tap for the morning with mostly light offshore winds for the county and a few pockets of light and variable flow at the more protected spots. Look for WNW-NW winds 10-14 knots for the afternoon.
