San Diego Surf Forecast - for Thursday - 2/11/2010

The WNW-NW swell will continue to back down as a little bit of SW swell slips into the background.

North County breaks can expect surf in the knee-waist high range…with a few waist-chest high sets at the standout spots. The AM tide is going to be a bit high so you might want to let it drop off a bit.

South County breaks will see surf in the waist-chest high range with some chest-shoulder high waves at the better breaks…possibly a little bit bigger on the lower tides. Surf looks fun overall but again the tide may slow things down a bit early on.

Winds look good…mostly light and variable to light-offshore conditions early and then just variable winds on tap for the afternoon. If the winds can stay below 10 knots for most of the day there is a shot at some clean-up near sundown.
